Welcome  to the website dedicated to providing SA paraglider pilots with the world's best gear
News  regularly updated with new products and pilots' achievements, from home and around the world
About us  who we are, where we fly, and what we aim to do
  Welcome
Paragliding is the epitome of free flight. Flying silently like birds, one relies on the earth's free energy
(wind and sun) to stay air borne. And as free as flying is to birds, the only thing that should rise sky-
high in paragliding, are the thermals. Dedicated to the free flyers of South Africa:

we can't control the weather, we can't cure your zest for flight,
we can offer you the world's best gear, to nurture your soul's delight!

For our paragliding visitors, one will find a range of gear from some of the best manufacturers around the
world, at down-to-earth prices. And don't be fooled, this is the very same gear chosen by the world's top
pilots for use in their international competitions, record attempts, adventurous expeditions, or just to fly
off the hill in their backyards.

For our earth-bound friends, it is hoped that these pages will impart one with a little more knowledge or
at least an introduction to the freest form of flight.

Pierre is accepted for RBX 2011  (17 Nov 2010)

Local pilot Pierre Carter has been accepted into the RedBull X-Alps competition for 2011. Together with James Braid, Pierre will take on the other 29 athletes and race across the Alps, from Salzburg to Monaco. In 2009, Pierre suffered a disasterous foot injury which put him out of the race on day 5. But with the experience gained, the duo are aiming for a better result.   About us
My name is James Braid, I have been paragliding since 1997. In 2000, I started importing the Gradient range of paragliders. After 10 years of representation in SA, Approximately 250 Gradient gliders have graced SA skies.

My passion in paragliding is long distance XC flying in the Karoo. I have done some time on competition gliders, but I prefer the relaxed flying on sports class wings.

I have been involved with the 1st Paragliding Club (based at Hartebeespoort dam) since 2002, and have served on the committee of the club since 2004.

South Africa is one of the best paragliding places in the world, with a spectacular array of sites and all-year-round flying conditions.

I hope you find this simple website useful.

James Braid
